The Challenge

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, one of the most notable was the dramatic increase in unemployment and a sixfold surge in demand for food relief agencies. To combat these challenges we formed a strategic partnership with VicHealth to support vulnerable communities through the creation of Cook Well Eat Well initiative.

The Solution

Cook Well Eat Well is a comprehensive website providing accessible, budget-friendly, and culturally diverse healthy eating resources that are tailored to various cooking skill levels and health literacy.

What we achieved:

  1. Engagement and Development of the Initiative: Engaged with 25 key organisations, including local councils, charities, food relief agencies, and primary care partnerships. Focusing on developing and providing supportive resources to assist their clients.
  2. Digital Platform and Content: The Cook Well, Eat Well website was a crucial development of the initiative and served as the hub for an extensive range of healthy eating resources. The website featured easily understandable, free-to-download content, accommodating the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of Victorians. The content developed included:
    • 34 basic cooking and healthy recipe videos.
    • 66 diverse recipes.
    • 16 informative factsheets.
    • 49 resources translated into multiple (five) languages
  3. Ongoing website management and updates: The impact of the Covid pandemic had a lasting impact. The ongoing maintenance and updates to Cook Well Eat Well were crucial to provide ongoing support and access to vulnerable individuals and communities

Let’s work together!
