In 2022, National Nutrition Foundation, credited as Nutrition Australia at the time, joined leading Victorian health and community organisations in a joint statement calling for stronger protections from unhealthy food and drink advertising.
The statement called on the Victorian Government to remove unhealthy food and drink advertising within 500 metres of schools, as well as across public transport and public transport infrastructure including stations, platforms, stops and shelters.
The advocacy formed part of a broader effort to create food environments that better support children’s health and wellbeing and reduce their exposure to unhealthy food marketing in everyday settings.
