Healthy Schools for Healthy Futures is a DPV Health campaign calling for stronger action to improve the food and drink options available in Victorian school canteens. The campaign called on the Victorian Department of Education and Training to update, mandate and monitor its school canteen policy, helping create more supportive food environments for children and young people.
What our children eat and drink at school impacts their health and wellbeing. Right now, 99% of school canteens are serving foods high in saturated fat, sugar, and salt. The Department of Education has the power to change this.
National Nutrition Foundation supported the campaign, credited as Nutrition Australia at the time, alongside other health and community organisations advocating for change to school food environments.
