annual report 2024 – 2025.

The National Nutrition Foundation (NNF) is filled with immense pride as it looks back over 2025 at its achievements and continued growth, its deep expertise, tireless commitment, and passion for advancing nutrition education and improving food environments to support and make a genuine difference in the health and wellbeing of Australians.

This last year has seen the ongoing success and continued evolution of several programs including the Fresh School Nutrition Advisory Program (freshSNAP) delivered in Western Australia, the Healthy Eating Advisory Service in Victoria and a range of bespoke projects too.

freshSNAP

freshSNAP continued to provide free advisory and consultation services to school canteens and food provision staff, curriculum-aligned teaching and free online learning and resources for parents and caregivers. It launched FoodChecker for WA schoolsundertook a significant and comprehensive update to curriculum resources, participated in Teacher Wellbeing Professional Development, and delivered face to face sessions for pre-service teachers at Notre Dame and Edith Cowan Universities. 

Healthy Eating Advisory Service

The Healthy Eating Advisory Service supported over 748 organisations and was involved in several key initiatives. Including:  

  • Cooks Connect: bringing together long day care cooks within a community to collaborate and share their knowledge and skills with other cooks.  
  • Policy directive: supporting health services to implement and maintain the Policy directive through intensive coaching, resources, and training, as well as assessing foods and drinks via FoodChecker.
  • Catering for Good: an online directory of food businesses that provide healthier and more sustainable catering.

NNF is incredibly grateful

to have worked with incredible partners and within incredible networks and, with the continued support of stakeholders, partners and the broader community, we are confident we will build on this foundation to create lasting and meaningful change. We will continue to strive for advocacy of evidence-based policies, empowering individuals through education, and leading the conversation on nutrition’s critical role in wellbeing. Together, we can ensure that good nutrition is within everyone’s reach.
